On Tuesday, Floyd County Schools Superintendent Dr. Henry Webb announced a team of information technology students from Prestonsburg High School have won the 2016 US Congressional App Challenge. Dr. Webb congratulated the winning team of Jonathan Dotson, Jacob Pitts, Blake Ratliff, and Michael Shepherd for winning the challenge for the second consecutive year, as well as thanked their teacher Dr. Jeff Shannon for his support and guidance to the team. The winners will split a $50,000 Amazon AWS prize, and have their app digitally displayed at the US Capital Building Atrium in Washington, DC for the next twelve months.
