Law Enforcement Officers Attend Below 100 Training in Perry County

Officers with the Hazard Police Department, along with the Jackson Police Department and Kentucky State Police Troopers, attended the Below 100 training at the Perry County Public Library early last week. The Below 100 initiative aims to reduce line of duty deaths of police officers to below 100 annually, a number not seen since 1943. Five key rules to improving officer safety are: wear your seat belt; wear your vest; watch your speed; WIN-What’s important now?; and Remember: Complacency Kills. These tenants help officers remember to not be distracted and take deliberate actions to insure their safety.
