Smoky Mountain Rise Telethon Raises Millions

Dolly Parton held a telethon Tuesday evening to raise money for the victims of the Sevier County wildfires. The telethon benefitted The My People Fund, which will provide families who were impacted by the fires with $1,000 each month. Several artists performed during the broadcast, as well as made donations, such as Chris Stapleton, who debuted his song “Broken Halos” and helped man the phones during the telethon. Checks totaling $2.1 million were featured on-air, with “millions” said to have been raised overall. If you would like to make a donation to the fund, you can visit dollywoodfoundation.org.
