On December 8, around 8am, Knox County Deputy Keith Liford responded to a complaint of an intoxicated man walking on KY 718 in Flat Lick. Deputy Liford arrived and observed a man talking to another man in a vehicle. During a check for active warrants on the two men, Deputy Liford noticed the driver, William Collins, moving around inside the vehicle and put something in the console. A syringe loaded with suspected methamphetamine and several different types of pills were discovered inside the vehicle. Collins, 25, was charged with Driving on DUI Suspended License, Possession of controlled substance and Drug Paraphernalia, Prescription Drug not in Original Container, and wanted on a bench warrant. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
