On December 10, Kentucky State Police Post 10 received a call of a structure fire on 212 Church Street in Lynch in Harlan County. Lynch, Cumberland, and Benham Fire Departments were on the scene and discovered a body in the home while extinguishing the flames. Raymond Metcalfe, 61, was discovered dead inside the residence. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no foul play is suspected.
