On Wednesday January 4, 2017 the Harlan County Sheriff’s Department was attempting to serve an arrest warrant in the Brittains Creek area. Upon arriving at a residence and searching for the suspect, deputies located a handgun in plain view at the residence. The residence was occupied by Jamie Craig and the handgun was in her bedroom. Through further investigation it was discovered Craig, 38, was a convicted felon. She was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
