Governor Matt Bevin addressed concerns over the REAL ID Act, after Fort Knox announced January 13 that they would no longer be accepting Kentucky licenses for entry to the military base beginning January 30. Bevin assured his administration is in contact with the Department of Homeland Security and officials in the incoming Trump administration. He said they are looking to secure a short extension while determining what additional actions may be required by Kentucky. Bevin added he is confident a resolution will be achieved during the current legislative session.
