Secretary of State Grimes Meets with Chinese Embassy Officials

Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes met with Chinese Embassy officials this week to continue the economic and cultural relationship between Kentucky and the People’s Republic of China. China is the state’s 4th largest export partner, with more than $1.9 billion of Kentucky’s exports in 2015. During a delegation funded by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in 2015, Grimes went to China to inform them about Kentucky’s business climate and economic development opportunities. Grimes said encouraging businesses to come to Kentucky is vital to growing jobs and opportunity to the commonwealth, with many opportunities for Kentucky to do business abroad, further growing the state’s economy.
