A two vehicle collision in Perry County claimed the life of a Leslie County Man the evening of March 13. Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 13 in Hazard responded to KY Highway 476 in the Bulan community after dispatchers received calls about the crash around 5:35 pm.  Preliminary investigation determined a Kia van, operated by Kaegan Welch-Embrey, crossed the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Pickup, driven by 39-year-old Stephen Griffie of Hyden, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Welch-Embrey was airlifted to Holston Valley Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Toxicology results are pending for both drivers and neither was wearing a seat belt.
