Officials Seeking Public’s Assistant with Dead Elk Incident

Kentucky Conservation Officers are asking for the public’s help with solving a crime. On October 16th, 2016, an elk was discovered dead on the Floyd/Knott county line in the area of Bear Fork and Gibson Branch. The antlers were sawed off with the meat left to ruin. It is believed that this was from a guided hunt and that someone close to the poacher would know about it. If you have any information, please call 1-800-25-ALERT or KY Fish and Wildlife Conservation Officer Sergeant Thomas at 606-595-8220. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for any information leading to the prosecution and conviction of the violators.
