Bevin Joins Petition Against EPA Regulation

Governor Matt Bevin has joined 10 other states in requesting that the United States Environmental Protection Agency reconsider a controversial regulation. The states involved are petitioning the EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt to delay the Accidental Release Prevention Requirements: Risk Management Programs Under the Clean Air Act issued on January 13, 2017. A letter from the states called the RMP Rule “deeply flawed” and detrimental to chemical safety and the safety of communities as a whole. The EPA regulation is said to affect a broad array of industries nationwide, including oil, gas refining, agriculture, and general manufacturing.
