House Bill 410 Passes State Senate

House Bill 410 passed the state Senate on Wednesday, March 15 with a vote of 26-11. The legislation would put Kentucky in compliance with federal law to provide citizens with a voluntary travel ID. Kentucky has been out of compliance with the federal law requiring the new form of ID, but was granted an extension until June. Without the ID, those traveling domestically or attempting to enter federal property were required to have a second form of ID in addition to a drivers’ license. The bill now waits for the governor’s signature.
