Ky Fish and Wildlife Requesting Samples for Coyote Study

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources is currently conducting a coyote study to find out where they come from. The department is requesting assistance with the study by asking citizens to collect and freeze fresh tongue tissue from shot or road-killed coyotes. The sample should be the size of a pencil eraser or larger. Record the county, the sex of the coyote and the date the sample was collected. Instructions on submitting samples can be received by contacting furbearer biologist Laura Palmer at Laura.Palmer@ky.gov.
