The Kentucky Historical Society held a listening session to commemorate the state’s 225^th Anniversary on Monday, April 17 in the Gearheart Auditorium on the Prestonsburg campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College. The session was facilitated by Dr. Stephanie Lang, associate editor of the Register of the Kentucky Historical Society. Dr. Lang, a Prestonsburg native, led an engaging discussion on what makes the Blue grass State special. She encouraged those in attendance to continue the conversation and focus on five things that make Kentucky “Kentucky”; two ways to celebrate Kentucky’s 225^th anniversary; and two ways to make the next 225 years better.
