A cargo plane crashed into the hillside near Yeager Airport around 7am Friday, May 5. The Air Cargo Carrier was contracted by UPS and was flying to Charleston when it crashed into the hillside upon landing. The pilot and co-pilot, whose names have not yet been released, reportedly died. Travelers with flights at Yeager Airport are advised to check for delays before arriving. Kanawha County Commission President Kent Carper declared a state of emergency due to the accident advising drivers to avoid the roadways near this area.
