The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 12 has given an update on the Brushy Road embankment failure. More than half of the two-lane highway slid over the side of the hill. KYTC engineers have assessed the situation and have applied for funding to start repairs. The road will remain closed until it can be repaired. KY 881 is one of several roads in District 12 which has very little underlying rock, which makes repairs more difficult due to a lack of an anchor point.
