Two Convicted for Carfentanil Distribution

On Thursday, July 13, a federal jury convicted Robert Shield, of Cincinnati, and Wesley Hamm, of Mount Sterling, on charges related to the distribution of carfentanil, fentanyl, and heroin, which resulted in overdoses in Monthomery County in August 2016. The illegal distribution resulted in at least one death from overdose. Both men face a minimum of twenty years and a maximum of life imprisonment. Formal sentencing for both defendants is scheduled for November 17, 2017.
