An amateur MMA fighter died after a fight in Louisville on Saturday, July 15. Donshay White, 37, had fought Ricky Muse at the Hardrock MMA 90 event, where he lost to technical knockout due to strikes after the referee stopped the fight. Bluegrass MMA reports that White collapsed backstage. He was attended to by onsite medical personnel before being transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Hardrock MMA issued a statement saying that their thoughts and prayers are with White’s family and loved ones, adding they will continue putting fighter safety above all else. The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Commission also issued a statement of condolence and said they will be reviewing details around the event.
