Beginning the morning of July 17, crews will close KY 3 in Boyd County, where Lower Chadwick Creek crosses under KY 3 near Brown Lane, and will begin excavating the old concrete culvert. Crews will then prepare the site for a new, longer-lasting aluminum culvert that will be assembled on location and installed. Work should be complete and the road reopened by Friday evening, July 21. Thru motorists may detour using KY 180, I-64, and US 23. Local traffic may pass the barricades to reach locations up to either side of the culvert site.
