On Monday, August 7, Laurel County Deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint off Woodland Court. When deputies arrived at the scene, the discovered that Vera Wooten, 40, had poured gasoline on her husband and set him on fire following a domestic dispute and altercation. She then allegedly drove him to St Joseph Hospital London for treatment, before he was transported by helicopter to Cincinnati’s burn center for treatment. The victim has burns over 50% of his body and is listed in critical condition. Wooten was charged with assault and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
