Knox County Man Arrested After Near Head-On Collision with Deputies

On Tuesday, August 8, around 1:50am, Knox County Deputies were leaving the parking lot of the Wildcat Market in Flat Lick when a vehicle came toward one of the patrol cars in a head-on direction. As the vehicle became closer to the patrol car, it made a sharp turn, then came toward the side of one of the patrol cars. Deputies pursued the vehicle as it traveled on US 25E south in the northbound lane. The vehicle refused to stop before crashing into a ditch and the driver fleeing on foot. The driver was located on Evergreen Road and identified as Thomas Gray, 36, of Flat Lick. Gray was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, fleeing or evading police, DUI, and auto theft. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
