A Lexington man, who pled guilty in May of 2017, was sentenced in federal court on Monday, August 14 to five months in prison and five months home confinement in addition to paying a $5,500 fine. Matt Garner, 34, was sentenced for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and making false statements to a federal agency. Garner, a former licensed real estate appraiser, made false statements in connection with appraisals he submitted for use by lenders in connection with federally-backed mortgages. Following incarceration, Garner will serve three years probation.
