October is Anti-Bullying Awareness Month and October 21 is Safe Schools Week in Kentucky. Floyd County Schools Superintendent Steve Trimble said that he and the board team are committed to making the schools in the district the best possible place for kids and asks the community to take that pledge with them. Safe Schools Week helps increase awareness and reminds everyone to make a safe and secure learning environment for students. This year’s theme is “’Get Involved and Get it Solved’ STOP the Bullying!” The pledge asks individuals to speak up about students are isolated and being bullied. Students, Staff and community members can take the pledge at www.kycss.org/getinvolved/.
