On Friday, October 20, 2017, Several Kentucky State Police Troopers, along with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and Wildlife Officers collaborated in an effort to locate and arrest several drug offenders in Letcher and Knott counties. Indictment warrants were served on thirteen individuals. The arrests were the culmination of investigation related to drug trafficking offenses that occurred between January 2016 and October 2017. Those arrested include Scotty Couch, 44, Megan Littrell, 32, Karen Hall, 48, Bennett Banks, 39, Eric Frazier, 35, Harold Gibson, 56, Brittany Maggard, 27, Dusty Shell, 27, Paul Patton, 41, James Elswick, 36, Phillip Wright, 39, and Sonia Breeding, 41. They were lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard and more arrests are expected.
