On Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 6:22pm, Kentucky State Police Morehead was notified of a fatal collision by Menifee County Dispatch. The collision occurred around the 3400 block of KY 1274 in Menifee County. After investigation, it was determined William Johnson, 43, of Frenchburg, was operating a 2002 Ford Ranger west-bound on KY 1274, when he lost control of the vehicle, exited the roadway, and struck an earth embankment. Mr. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by Menifee County Coroner. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
