On October 20, 2017, Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post troopers arrested 34-year-old Amanda Meade of West Van Lear. Meade was charged with murder in connection with an indictment warrant issued by the Johnson County Grand Jury. The investigation into this incident began on October 15, 2016, with the death of a new born infant.
