Kentucky Department of Revenue Warns of Phishing Email Scams

The Kentucky Department of Revenue is warning taxpayers to beware of phishing email scams. Phishing emails appear to be from a trusted source but are actually sent by a malicious source to gain access to your personal or confidential information. Commissioner Daniel Bork with the Department of Revenue says the first step in ensuring your information remains confidential is awareness. Warning signs to look out for include links that display one web address but actually lead to a different web address; email addresses that are not in the proper format or use the incorrect domain; and improper use of English. If you receive a suspicious email, contact the Department of Revenue at 502-564-4581.
