Tristate Initiative to Combat Violent Crime and Drug Trafficking

On Monday, February 12, 2018, three United States Attorneys for the Tristate area: Robert Duncan, Jr. of the Eastern District of Kentucky; Michael Stuart, of the Southern District of West Virginia, and Benjamin Glassman, of the Southern District of Ohio, along with representatives of the ATF, FBI and DEA, and state and local law enforcement, announced the formation of a law enforcement working group to enhance joint efforts to combat violent crime and drug trafficking. The working group met for the first time on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Ashland. The collaboration is part of the US Department of Justice’s enhanced Project Safe Neighborhoods Program, a crime reduction program incorporating long-standing law enforcement partnerships to help produce a long-term, meaningful reduction in violent crime. As part of the collaborative efforts, members of federal, state and local law enforcement will meet regularly to share intelligence and identify the most dangerous offenders in the area.
