On Thursday, January 17, 2019, around 8:23pm, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 65-year-old James Combs on charges related to distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Combs was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. An investigation began after discovering the suspect distributed files of child sexual exploitation online. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized at his residence in Louisa. Combs was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
