Lou Jean Shepherd, age 77 of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky. She was born January 1, 1942 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Boone & Lula Marsillett Kilgore. She was the wife of the late Robert Deford Shepherd. She was a homemaker and member Third Ave Freewill Baptist Church, Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She is survived by her Son: Robert J. (Marina) Shepherd of David, Kentucky; Daughter: Amy Shepherd Purvis of Alexandria, Kentucky; Brothers: Johnny Kilgore of Blue River, Kentucky & Tommy Kilgore of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; Sisters: Myrtle Adams of Blue River, Kentucky, Opal Brown of David, Kentucky & Ruby Moore of David, Kentucky; Grandchildren: Summer Shepherd, Haley Shepherd, Kendall Purvis & Harper Purvis. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her Brother: Robie Kilgore. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
