A man is behind bars after deputies said a child was left alone wandering outside.

Laurel County Sheriff’s deputies say they arrested Sammy Bowling, 33, of London. Deputies were dispatched to East Pittsburgh Church Road after hearing that a toddler was unsupervised in the front yard of a home.

Upon arrival, deputies found the caller and the child, who was around two years old. The child had no pants, shoes or socks on, wearing only a soiled diaper. The caller said she heard the child crying outside.

Sammy Bowling was charged with wanton endangerment and was sent to the Laurel County correctional center.
