Floyd County Health Department officials took to their Facebook page yesterday evening with this update:
Update August 5th, Floyd County has six additional cases to report for a total of 93 cases with one in the hospital. Active cases are 18 with more people showing symptoms in our cases in July -August than in April -June. Most reported symptoms are cough, fever, aches, diarrhea, and loss of taste/smell.
If you have people you know are positive and you have been around them in the past 7-10 days you should self quarantine and monitor for symptoms. COVID 19 is a community acquired virus and is on the rise in our area. It is important to report your activities if you become a contact to a positive case. Contact tracing has proven an effective way to prevent any communicable disease from spreading and helps save lives. Please wear a mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands often to help slow the spread.
