Governor Andy Beshear announced that funding has been approved to reopen the Northern Kentucky office of the State Medical Examiner. The office has been closed since March of 2018.

Opening the office will result in faster turn around times for death investigations in Northern Kentucky due to no longer having to send investigations to other parts of Kentucky, as well as taking stress from other investigation offices that were taking on the load of the Northern Kentucky investigations.
