A man out of Barbourville was arrested this past Saturday on drug-related charges after a woman arrived at Barboursville ARH and was unresponsive.

The woman in question appeared to have taken an Oxycodone tablet. Barboursville Police Department Detectives identified the source of the tablet and prepared a search warrant for 31-year-old Darien Bargo.

Upon a search of his home, detectives found a large quantity of what are believed to be counterfeit pills designed to look like common medications like Oxycodone and Alprazolam.  Detectives seized around $15,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

The woman who overdosed has been identified by police but her name is not being released as of now.

Bargo was arrested and charged with the distribution of Oxycodone and Alprazolam. He is being held at the Knox County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond. He is awaiting transfer to the US District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
