A truck driver out of Illinois has recently been sentenced to 15-years in prison following his guilty plea to transporting a minor across state lines for criminal sexual activity.

33-year-old David Kyle Skaggs was sentenced this past Thursday in Abington Federal Court.

According to court records, Skaggs would routinely stay at the home of a Lee County woman while passing through the area for work. In August of 2015, he offered to bring the woman’s 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter with him on a route to South Dakota.

While at a truck-stop, Skaggs is said to have bought the children alcohol. Court records indicate that, when the boy fell asleep, Skaggs raped his younger sister, who then became pregnant. A DNA test later confirmed that the baby was his.

Skaggs pleaded guilty in July, but asked to change his plea the following month, claiming he felt pressured to take the guilty plea. a judge later denied that request.
