A man out of Mingo County was arrested and has been charged with 1st-degree murder, following an incident that took place this past Friday.

According to deputies, Dalton Abbott, went into the home of his neighbor, Michael Toler, at around noon this past Friday, when a fight is said to have broken out between the two. The fight left Toler with internal injuries, including several broken ribs.

Toler was then taken to Logan Regional Hospital,  where he later died of his injuries. Officers were called to the hospital at around 7 PM that same day to investigate.

Abbott was arrested by the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department and the Gilbert Police Department this past Saturday.

Deputies say they are still investigating in order to find a possible motive for the case.
