Two people were arrested after one driver led multiple law enforcement agencies on a 23-mile-long chase along US 23 in Floyd and Johnson Counties.

The incident began early Wednesday morning near Paintsville when Deputies attempted to pull over the vehicle being driven by 22-year-old Benjamin Anderson, of Van Lear. However, the car sped away, heading towards Floyd County, where the Kentucky State Police, Prestonsburg City Police, and Martin City Police alongside District 2 Floyd County Constable Gary Nelson joined the chase.

According to officers, Anderson is said to have attempted to take the exit onto RT 114, but instead struck the guardrail and continued along US 23.

The chase ended a few miles later, when Anderson pulled over across from the Bull Creek Trade Center and surrendered to law enforcement. He is now facing multiple charges, including fleeing police and wanton endangerment.

Additionally, Anderson was wanted on a fugitive warrant after failing to appear in court to answer for charges of assault and fleeing police last year.

A male juvenile passenger was also taken into custody following the chase, but was later released.
