Eastern KY Woman Wins Big on Scratch Off

An Eastern Kentucky nurse won $200,000 on a scratch off on her first day of retirement.

The Kentucky Lottery says the woman from, Floyd County Kentucky, worked as a frontline nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic and recently retired after 36 years on the job. Just hours into her first day of retirement, she bought a 10 dollar Tree-Mendous Winnings Scratch off ticket at Prestonsburg Double Kwik.

The woman is from Dana, and wishes to stay anonymous.

Last week she drove to lottery headquarters in Louisville and cashed her ticket in, after taxes she walked out with a  check for 142,000.

The Prestonsburg Double Kwik will receive a 2,000 dollar bonus for selling the winning ticket.
