Two Killed In Separate Single-Vehicle Crashes In Pike County

Two people are now dead following a pair of separate single-vehicle car crashes over the weekend in Pike County.

 

The first came just after 8:00 PM on Saturday night. The crash took place on US 460 in Shelbiana. According to police, 44-year-old Virgil Allen, of Pikeville, was driving a Chevy Equinox when his vehicle went off of the road and struck a culvert. He died at the scene.

 

The second wreck took place on RT 292 in South Williamson, just before 10:00 AM on Sunday morning. According to police, 48-year-old Windel Rife, of Belfry, was driving a Cadillac CTS when his vehicle went off the road. The car then hit a guardrail before plunging over a steep embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Both incidents currently remain under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
