Two men are now in jail following a call about a suspicious vehicle. This led Johnson County Police to a drug find.

A Paintsville resident called about a suspicious vehicle parked outside of his home. The resident was concerned that the individuals inside the car were known drug dealers in the area. A state trooper is said to have found the car parked at a car wash, with 21-year-old Jaylon Ivey, of Roseville, Michigan, sitting inside.

The trooper is said to have discovered bags of heroin, 49 oxycodone tablets, and 47 Xanax bars in the man’s pockets. He also found $500 in cash. Ivey was arrested on three counts of drug trafficking.

When asked if another person had accompanied him, Ivey told officers that a white man had been with him earlier, but that he did not know the man’s name or where he had gone after leaving.

A Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputy found the man previously with Ivey and identified him as 47-year-old Ronald Wheeler, of Salyersville. Wheeler was arrested on two active warrants. Officers also found a small bag of meth on his person when he was being transported to the jail. Wheeler was additionally charged with promoting contraband.

Both men are currently being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
