A man was arrested and charged with murder following a hit and run accident over the weekend that resulted in one death.

Officials were called to Oak Grove Road on Saturday afternoon, where they found the body of 91-year-old Lonnie Leach, of Morehead. Leach was found by the roadway on Rt. 1167 and appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

The following day, Detective Donnie Hall arrested 44-year-old Andy Baldridge, who was transported to the Rowan County Detention Center. Currently, he is being charged with murder, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to render aid, and marijuana possession.
