Local shelter in need of donations

donations-needed

The WestCare Perry Cline Emergency Shelter in Pikeville is in immediate need of your assistance.

Officials at the Redale Road shelter are seeking donations as they prepare to remodel the 85-year-old structure.

According to Brittany Slone, Program Director, the building was built in 1937 and is in “really bad condition.” The building is needing new plumbing and new electrical work.

The shelter provides unhoused people in the area a place to stay and help them get back on their feet. Slone says without help and donations, this mission wouldn’t be possible.

If you would like to provide a monetary donation to WestCare Perry Cline Shelter, you can drop off your donation at many businesses around Pikeville such as Mona’s to Appcycled. Business owners have set up small red donation boxes. Direct donations are also accepted at the shelter, or by contacting Brittany Slone at 606-432-9442.
