Officials with the Indiana State Police are currently working to identify the body of a young boy who was discovered dead. The boy’s body was found in the woods in Eastern Washington County on Saturday evening.
The person who initially found the body told officials he was hunting for mushrooms when he stumbled upon the suitcase containing the boy’s body at around 7:30 PM.
The child in question is described as a black 5-8 year-old boy, who had short hair and stood around 4-feet-tall.
Authorities completed their autopsy on Tuesday. There was no obvious cause of death, so investigators are relying on toxicology reports to see if any drugs were in the child’s system at the time of his death. For now, this case remains a death investigation.
