Man Arrested Following Shooting At Lodge

One man was arrested and charged in a shooting on Sunday in Chapmanville.

 

Just before 1:45 AM, West Virginia State Troopers responded to a shooting at the Chief Logan Lodge. Troopers managed to locate the victim inside, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

 

The victim, 21-year-old Tyler Topping, of Jefferson City, Tennessee, was transported to the Logan Regional Medical Center and then to CAMC for treatment.

 

The suspect of the shooting, 19-year-old Christopher Mullins, of Chapmanville, West Virginia, was identified at the scene of a single-vehicle accident at a separate location.

 

Mullins was also transported to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during the car crash. He was subsequently arrested and charged with malicious wounding, wanton endangerment, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

 

Mullins is now being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail. This investigation is ongoing and we will update you as more information becomes available.
