A West Virginia man recently admitted to his role in a conspiracy to sell counterfeit pills. The pills in question resulted in two individuals suffering from overdoses.

20-year-old Paul Perkins, of Big Stone Gap, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute Fentantyl.

Perkins informed officers that he had a source for Fentanyl pills disguised as oxycodone out of California. He would allegedly order as many as 1,000 pills at a time for less than $2 per pill. Perkins is said to have consumed between 30 and 50 of the pills within a day while selling the remainder for between $15-$30 per pill.

Two individuals overdosed in November after buying pills from Perkins. Both have since recovered.

Perkins now faces a potential 40-year prison sentence.

Two others have already pleaded guilty in the case. 19-year-old Cheyenne Cassie Carico and 22-year-old Austin Lane will be sentenced on August 10th.
