A man out of Pike County was arrested on Sunday following a stabbing.

 

Officials responded to Fourth Street in Pikeville, over a report that a woman had been stabbed.

 

Upon their arrival, officers spoke with the woman, who informed police she had been stabbed by 64-year-old Jimmy Roberts, whom she lived with.

 

Police then arrested Roberts, who allegedly informed officers that he stabbed the woman after she had thrown an ashray at him while he slept.

 

Roberts is currently being held on a charge of first-degree assault.
