Prestonsburg/Floyd County Emergency Communications Center Looking for Full-Time 911 Telecommunicator

The Prestonsburg/Floyd County Emergency Communications Center is looking for a full time 911 telecommunicator.

Those with the City of Prestonsburg said they offer competitive pay and benefits package for the position. The job is 48 hours a week, with telecommunicators working four-twelve hour shifts with three days off. They also said the applicant must be able to work alternative shifts, weekends and holidays.

Applicants must be able to complete an extensive background check and have a clean criminal record.

Uncertified applicants will be required to complete the Telecommunications Professional Standards process that includes a polygraph examination, psychological examination, and to complete the five week Public Safety Dispatchers’ Academy at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training at Richmond, Kentucky.

Officials ask that applications be submitted to the 911 Center on the second floor of the Municipal Building in Prestonsburg.
