Floyd County Conservation District is reminding the public of the burning restriction that is in place as we are in Kentucky’s spring wildfire hazard season.
From now through April 30th, it is illegal to burn between 6am to 6pm in or within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland. The exception is if the ground is covered in snow.
Officials say that all fires should be attended until extinguished. Check with your local fire department, county judge/executive’s office, Divisions of Air Quality and Waste Management, and your local Kentucky Division of Forestry office before conducting outdoor burning.
