Update from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet:

 

KNOTT COUNTY (May 4, 2023) The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of daily closures along KY 1087 in Knott County. The work site begins at mile point 15.9 (1.2 miles Northeast of KY 1098) near Softshell.

Crews will repair multiple embankments along the route. Due to the narrow road widths and drilling equipment needed, crews will close the road daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Friday, May 5. Work is expected to take approximately ten to twelve weeks.

All vehicles will need to use an alternate route during this time. Motorists should use caution in the area and pay attention to equipment parked near the work zone during nighttime hours.

Nattco Inc. has been contracted to perform the work. Work schedules are subject to weather conditions.
