Three people from Pike County are now in jail after being arrested for meth and fentanyl trafficking.

On Sunday evening, a state trooper spotted a blue car when he was patrolling Barrenshee Creek that had an altered temporary tag. The trooper recognized 54 year old Brian Hegedus, who is wanted for questioning in connection to a West Virginia motorcycle theft.

During a traffic stop, the trooper saw a digital scale in open sight with white powder as he approached the driver, 37 year old Savannah Mounts.

This prompted the trooper to conduct a search of the vehicle which led to the discovery of several bags of meth, 6 grams of fentanyl and an assortment of drug paraphernalia.

Both Hegedus and Mounts were arrested for trafficking meth and fentanyl and several other charges.

45 year old Amanda Layne, who was the third person in the vehicle, was arrested on several warrants for not appearing in court and not paying fines.
